Water management in the Municipality

Aguas de La Coruña, S.A., a company that was 100% owned by the City Concil, provided the water supply service from 1908. Seventy yeras later, on 7 July 1978, the Empresa Municipal de Aguas de La Coruña, S.A., was set up. The new company absorbed the old one and took over its functions.

EMALCSA is therefore a private municipal company. It is a limited company and subject to the Local Government Service Rules.

Its mission is to provide the water supply service to the city of La Coruña and the surrounding aea, as well as collaborating with the Council to manage municipal services.
