 Monomaterial collection

The collection of paper, cardboard and glass from their special containers is different due to the containers themselves, as they are mainly underground Molok igloos.

The 273 collection points are distributed along nine collection routes, checked daily to see how full they are - there are three classifications, namely "full", "three quarters" or "half full". In the first two cases they are emptied the same day, while in the third case the container is not emptied until it is used more. Routes are covered every day except for Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.

Special efforts are made on special dates, such as Christmas and Mondays, when people collaborate most with selective waste collection.

There are two trucks specially designed for emptying these containers. Normally only one covers the collection routes, while the other one is in reserve. Each truck has a capacity of 20 cubic metres. A crane lifts out the huge bag inside the container, opens it at the bottom and empties the content into the truck.

Community involvement is important, as you can let us know when a container is full or inform us of any other circumstance, calling the 010 telephone service.
