The Plant started operations in November 1999 with the inorganic fraction and
in September 2000 for the organic part.
A total of 180,000 m2 for integral waste management with an
investment of over 42 million Euros. The technology used in
the building of the plant has turned it into one of the most significant
of its kind in the world. Its treatment capacity is 220,000
tons / year. At present it is treating around 185,000 tons,
of which 100,000 is organic, coming from La Coruña and
the surrounding area. It provides 150 direct jobs and another 230 indirect posts.
