What we would like to do here is to introduce you to the immediate
history of La Coruña by walking along various routes, to take a short trip back in time with just two needs - a
good pair of shoes and the desire to walk, see and touch ....
Apart from the food routes (restaurants, bars and taverns) and
the landscape routes (round the new
promenade), there are three routes within the city:
 The Old City
The Modernist City
The Picasso Route
Near the city, the Rías Altas, the Costa da Morte (Death Coast), the shires of
As Mariñas, Os Bergantiños, and a little bit further away, the rest of Galicia,
make the city of La Coruña an ideal base for hiking in a beautiful natural area.
There are three different directions to take:
The Pilgrims' Road to Santiago
The Western Route - Death Coast
The Northern Route - Golfo Ártabro, Rías Altas and the River Eume.
